My First Ever Vlog!

Ok fellow followers...as I let some of you know last week I have a fear of video cameras. Well not really a fear as much as I am just not a fan of them. Soooooo....I decided tonight to make my first ever Vlog.

Please have mercy on me as you watch this. Try not to laugh too hard at my awkwardness, and get ready to possibly deal with a weekly vlog from me as I attempt to come out of my shell, quit hiding behind a keyboard and let everyone get to know me a little better!

  1. Hey! Wow! So good to SEE you! I am so amazed and proud of you for taking this step. I, too, have a deathly fear of cameras. Somewhere there is footage of me in the 4th grade, pink-faced and sweating.

For a first effort you did really well. As you get used to this you'll become more relaxed and natural. What did you use to record this? I have a cheapy digital camcorder I got for ghost hunting but havent used yet.

I don't know what process you used before recording, but what I learned in speech class is, figure out what you want to say and practice it. IE. If you have a tip of the day, do some research, write up talking points or a script. Practice in front of someone who will give you usefull feedback. Have an intro and a summary. Or maybe you want to give a demo on an exercise or proper form. In the end, practice makes perfect.

I'm really proud of you for taking this step. You've got me thinking about it now. Can't wait to see where you go from here!

  2. This is great! It's like you're a real person now! =P I'm having the same problem with eating and you know what, i think it's killed my drive to get anything done. I'm averaging one workout a week (insanity) and i don't know whhhyyy! Why insanity?! Why once?! Why can't i get anything else doneee!? I feel sluggish. Finally getting groceries tomorrow (first time since i moved=/) and maybe fresh eats will give me a boost. Or swift kick in the asss! =P You look awesome! And I think vlogging is the way to go! =D Especially for someone as busy as you. Might make it easier ya know? =] I'm really glad you're keeping up with your workouts! You're killin' it! =D Keep up the positive work. I'll hopefully be doing the same soon again! =/

  3. Thanks Chris. I just used my webcam to film it. I was just goofing around with it, trying to get comfortable seeing myself on the screen and decided to go for it.

What you see is the first take. I'm not going for scripted or rehearsed. I'm just being me....kinda like if I was sitting in a room with someone talking to them. Whatever comes to mind comes to mind.

Thanks again for your feedback and for checking it out!

  4. Hi Sarah! Thanks for stopping by to "meet" me...lol. I'm so happy I did this now. Its not as awful as I thought it would be and you're right...it was a quick easy way for me to submit something to my blog without having to sit and write. I also like that I am a "real person" now to so many people I have connected with! I've heard you sing, now you've heard me speak...lol.

I hope the grocery shopping is the kick in the ass you need to get back on track. I need my ninja master back!!!!

Keep your head up - I know you've had a lot on your plate lately. You'll be back at it in no time...you're too stubborn to quit! :P

Hey! You look great! Your manerisms are exactly @Melysas's. It's weird knowing you IRL and then seeing you on your vlog. As usual, I'm so proud of you for what you have accomplished. Miss you! See you tomorrow.
